Affordable
Storm Panels in a Variety of Materials
and Colors
Storm Panels are the
least expensive method of protecting
your home, about half the cost of Accordion
shutters and about a third the cost
of manual Roll shutters. They are easier
to handle and lighter in weight in comparison
to plywood. Unlike plywood, they can
be reused over and over again. Some
additional features related to storm
panels include:
All storm panels
meet Dade County and Florida Building
Code specifications.
An insurance letter of compliance
is provided for an insurance discount.
The preferred method
of installation of storm panels is
using a aluminum “h” track
above the window and an “f”
track below the window. Tracks are
available in White or Bronze in color.
When installing shutters they simply
slide up into an “h” header
above window and are secured to “f”
track below the window using bolts
and wing-nuts. For most window locations
a ladder would not be necessary.
Storm panels do not
require a lot of room for storage.
They stack on top of each other –
about 8 panels per inch. Normally
a 2-3’ corner of garage is sufficient
space.
Estimated time for
installation for a 1500 -3000 sq.ft.
house is 1-3 hours.
